Book Spotlight on Karma for Hire @HennesseAndrew #newrelease

Synopsis:
Bitching angels, grumbling demons, and one obnoxious incubus. Karma’s hands were already full dealing with her diverse staff and humans who can’t seem to just love one another. Add in two pride demons from the pit with a chip on their shoulders, a wannabe demon hoping to take over as the Ruler of Hell, an archangel with his sights set on the loftiest of thrones, the upcoming Sin Convention, and Karma is left overwhelmed.
To make the week worse, her incubus website designer, Thadeus, has been trying to lure her into bed for the last three thousand years, and shows no signs of giving up any time soon. Everything is on the line, including her position. Falling in love with Thadeus could only make matters worse. She truly believes she isn’t meant to have a happily ever after. Besides, demons aren’t capable of love—or are they?
When all hell breaks loose, literally, Karma must decide whether to stand up and fight for everything she has ever known, or let it go. Love dangles in the balance. Are the two of them nothing more than pawns stuck between good and evil like she had always believed? Or have thousands of years of diligent service earned her the happily ever after she deserves?
This tale is written in multiple points of views from the perspectives of angels and demons, based on how they might react given the situation they are in. This story is not meant to disregard or make fun of religious beliefs in any way, nor in any way discount any persons or religions.
Approach this book and understand that it was written as a light-hearted, slapstick, romantic comedy. A 'Three Stooges collides with good and evil' type of tale. If you don’t enjoy laughing, smiling, or otherwise enjoying yourself, this book isn’t for you. If you are looking for a light, feel-good read, this may be what you’re looking for.

Excerpt:
Thadeus plucked the empty glass from her fingers. “Stress isn’t a good look on you. Let’s dance.”
With a wave of his hand, the jukebox record skipped and an upbeat Latin tune began to play. He tugged her hand, urging her to follow him to the dance floor. Angels and demons cleared the floor, no doubt because Thadeus made them. Such immense power, she chanted inside her mind. Gotta love a powerful demon. An abrupt twirl and Karma spun, smacking up against his chest. Damn, he smelled so wonderful. His hand slid to the small of her back and he swiveled his hips against her.
Oh, hell. The Lambada. The forbidden dance.
The music echoed in her ears as their bodies came together in a sinful display. Thadeus led with confidence, causing her body to move in ways she hadn’t realized she was capable of. His rock hard body pressed against her, hands gliding down her back to her hips, stopping to squeeze and grind his hips against hers.
Their eyes connected. Fierce emotions were communicated, warring with lust and hate, overpowering and intoxicating. He dipped his head down and kissed her neck. His breath was on her neck, their bodies in perfect rhythm, hands seeking to touch. Slowly he turned to look up her, lips dragging up her throat to her chin. Need radiated from the depths of his gaze. Their lips were so close. She wanted to kiss him again, wanted to feel the heat once more, but fear gripped her, because if he kissed her now, she wouldn’t say no… to anything.
Thadeus nipped her chin and smiled so seductively, eyes twinkling with promise. She felt safe and loved in his arms. He held her as if he cherished her, adored her, and she was dangerously close to losing her control. “Need me, Karma. Want me,” he whispered and grazed his lips over hers. “Say the word and I’m yours.”
“Kiss me, Thadeus,” she said, unable to ignore the centuries of emotions for him that kept her up late at night. Her future was uncertain and looking bleaker by the day. If her world as she knew it ended next week, she damn sure wanted to go out with a bang.
Heat enveloped her, starting from her head and trailing down to her toes. Thadeus was using every bit of incubus magic on her and it was the most amazing feeling. Not a part of her body felt untouched. Everywhere zings of pleasure raced across her skin until she was short of breath.
“I want you, Thadeus. I need you,” she whispered and he groaned, twirled her once last time and they poofed out of The Hole.
Dizzy from the abrupt transport, Karma opened her eyes. Thadeus held her, pleased with his choice of location. Her feet were bare, sand pushing up between her toes. He trailed a finger over her bottom lip, leaving a buzz behind. “I have never wanted anything more than I want you at this very moment.”
Karma felt her eyes sting. No one had ever gazed upon her the way Thadeus did and it warmed the cold region of her heart. No emotion, she said to herself. This was about letting go. It was about living her existence to the fullest. It was about giving in to a desire that had raged for centuries.
No regrets.
“Take me, Thadeus. I’m yours.”
Every touch and every kiss resonated in Karma’s soul. Passion and lust, want and desire—her blood flowed at a quickened pace, heart racing, skin tingling. The buzz that raced over her skin was especially delightful, sort of similar to having low voltage electrical probes attached to her pressure points. She hummed, enjoying every region he affected, which seemed to be all of them.
With little effort, Thadeus swept her up in his arms and carried her toward a bed with an amazing backdrop. Waves crashed in, creating a gentle and pleasurable roar. He gently laid her down, placing chaste kisses from her collarbone to her neck. When he reached her ear, he murmured in a dark tone, “Mine.”
His body covered her, his weight a reminder of his size and strength. Breathing became problematic, but who needed to breathe? Every part ignored the lack of oxygen she took in and yearned for more. “Thadeus,” she moaned and clutched his muscled chest, unable to believe how her body responded to him, how he made her feel. “I had no idea.” And by idea, she realized he’d been holding back all these years.
Thadeus chuckled in an arousing tone, sending more desire flooding throughout her system. The sensations pushed her toward orgasm, and all she could do was hold on, and allow her body to give in. A cry of ecstasy combined with the sounds of the waves, words unintelligible, and at that point, not worth speaking.
As her body contracted and released, she offered a contented sigh, realizing they were both still fully clothed. Apprehension caused her to tremble. If Thadeus could take her to such heights with her clothes on, what would happen with them off?
It was then she recalled a demon once saying, “Once you have an incubus, you’ll be ruined for anything else.”

Are you ready for your heart to be conquered? #historical #romance

Thank you so much for hosting me on your blog today!
When I started writing Conquest of the Heart, I wanted a book that was very different. Conquest books are usually about the conquering Norman hero taking over some poor Englishwoman's estate and she has to marry him to protect her land and people.
In this clash of cultures, I turned things around. My hero, Ranulf, is a Saxon. One of the conquered. In order to keep his estate, he has to marry King William's ward, Madeline.
These two people from different countries, different people, with different customs, laws, and dress, have to find a way to trust and love each other. It isn't always easy, but there's a lot of humor in this book, in spite of being set in a dark and violent time. For one thing, the hero is a virgin, and it is Madeline who must lead the way! How she throws out her lures and how he is finally ensnared is just one of the topsy-turvy things I did in this book.

Conquest of the Heart

Blurb:
Her people conquered his country. How can they overcome the distrust they feel to find love?
In 1067 England, Madeline, a Norman, wants a big, brash, never-defeated-in-battle, Norman knight. What she gets, by order of the king, is a wiry Saxon who once studied for the priesthood instead of warfare. But is this gentle man she is falling in love with entangled in the rebellion now sweeping the land?
Ranulf wants to marry the girl next door. What he gets, by order of the king, is a lush, strong Norman woman who just might be a spy reporting his every move. He wants her in every way a man can possibly want a woman. But can he trust his heart to a woman who might have been sent to root out the struggle for freedom his people are engaged in?

Excerpt:

He let his gaze travel back to his bride walking stiffly, reluctantly, toward him. For once, Ranulf felt speech was beyond him. She was so much more than he had expected. So beautiful. So clean. She  glittered like a bright jewel in a dung heap. For Etherby, no matter how much he loved it, was not much better than one right now.

If only he could say to this magnificent woman, "Go away. Come back in a year. Give me time to build the castle the king has ordered, tear down this rotting hall, teach cleanliness to servants to whom filth is a way of life. Then you won't have to grit your teeth and square our shoulders as if going into battle as you come to wed me." But it was already too late. She was here. The wedding was now. And he felt as randy as a billy goat.

He would begin building the king's castle immediately. The work would distract him from Lady Madeline's seductive lure. She would find no treason with which to fill the king's ears, and, like his mother's attitude toward his father, he was sure the lady would be glad not to have him in her bower, not the way he felt now, the things he wanted to do to her.

Book Spotlight on With Me Now @Heather_Curley @EvernightPub #newrelease

Introducing...

TEASER EXCERPT

The hot water and steam of the shower was relaxing, enough to kick the butterflies in her stomach into submission.  Her muscles ached.  The tendons and ligaments in her upper shoulders and back throbbed as if she’d been moving heavy furniture all week instead of throwing her weight against the screen sifter.  It was just another brutal reminder that, although she was thin, she was pathetically out of shape.
She stood under the unrelenting water, craning her neck from side to side in an attempt to work the muscles loose.  Maybe Mike could crack her back for her.  She smirked.  Now that was a pickup line she’d have to remember: say, care to get on top and crack my back?
Once the conditioner was rinsed out of her hair, she turned the faucet off and reached for a towel.  Her hair was getting long. It seemed like she’d need to use two or three of the thin, white hotel towels to sop up the excess water.  No matter, she could resort to using the room’s hair dryer and, in forty-five minutes or so, the feeble little machine might get her hair dry.  Damn it, of all the things to leave at home.  She hadn’t planned on needing to look as attractive and desirable as humanly possible. If she had, she’d have brought along a better selection of makeup.
She towel dried her hair enough to keep water from trickling down her back, and then wrapped another towel around her body.  It was a good thing she’d done a load of laundry the previous day. Not that she had “date” quality outfits with her, but she was fully aware which pair of jeans accentuated her curves the best.  She pulled on a red vintage style t-shirt emblemized with a grayed out Union Jack. It was casual and cute, though she was reasonably sure her clothes were the last thing on his mind.
The steam from the small bathroom had filtered out into the sink area, fogging up the mirror and giving everything a generally damp feeling.  She wiped her hand across the condensation covered mirror. In the unobstructed reflection she could see a figure, a man, standing directly behind her.
She bit back a shriek and jerked around.  There was no one there; the room was empty.
“Shit.”  The words felt as if they bubbled out of her throat, pushed out by her rapid heartbeat.  She gripped the countertop with one hand to steady herself.  The reflection in the mirror was clear and crisp.  It wasn’t a shadow or the light playing on the steam from the shower. It was a man.  It was him, the man who’d been watching her for days.  He’d stood and watched her at the Spangler Farm.  He’d breathed on the back of her neck, whispered in her ear as she worked in the test pit.
Now he was in her room.
Madison swallowed hard, peering into the main section of the hotel room.  It was empty.  Nothing was out of place, no one was watching her from any corner of the room; yet, she didn’t feel completely alone.  He was still there.
Her hand faltered on the countertop and she sank backward, half sitting, half leaning against the sink.  The air in the room felt soupy and stale.  Gooseflesh rippled down her still damp arms and across her back.  What in Christ’s name did he want from her?
She felt him next to her, his breath on her shoulder.  Please.
Could he hear her when she spoke to him?  It was worth a try.  “I’m not sure I know how to help you.”
But she knew someone who did.

Author Interview

1.        Are you a pantser or a plotter?  I’m definitely a pantser.  I can probably count on one hand (with fingers left over) the amount of times I’ve plotted out my books.  I think it reminds me too much of forced outline writing in college!  I like to just sit down with music and write until I stop.  Or fall asleep (FYI: kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk does not count as novel writing, haha).
2.       What authors have inspired you to write?  I am inspired by the passion and commitment of JK Rowling and her ability to create entire worlds with their own laws, rules, games, and forces or good an evil.  Robert A. Heinlein inspires me with the foresight and creativity he showed science fiction in 1950s and 1960s.  And, of course, George R.R. Martin inspires me with this spunk, sass, and commitment to writing the way he wants to write.
3.       How important are names to you in your book?  For me, naming a character is like naming a child.  You’re going to be with this person for the entirety of your book/series.  Try going outside and yelling the character name over and over again.  If you don’t get sick of it, that’s the name you should go with.  This is also how my husband and I named our second child.
4.       Is there a certain type of scene that’s hard for you to write?  I’m bad with sex scenes.  For the sex scene in the first historical novel I wrote, I couldn’t even bring myself to look at the screen while I typed.
5.       What is With Me Now about?  With Me Now is about Madison Monroe, a college student on her first archeological dig.  She’s working in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and finds something buried on the battlefield she didn’t expect to find.
6.       How much research did you do?  I’ve been Civil War reenacting since 2001 and met my husband at Gettysburg, so I’m very familiar with every nook and cranny of the battlefield.  In 2004, my husband and I were volunteers at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park in the living history department.  For approximately two days, I worked on an archeological dig and, from that, this novel was born.  Most of the research I did was archeological terminology and techniques of speaking/interacting with ghosts.
7.       What writing advice do you have for aspiring authors?  Never quit.  It’s too easy to get frustrated: with writing, editing, submitting, rejection.  If this is what you want, work for it!  Believe in your idea and your writing.
8.       What are you working on now?  Right now, I’m working on the sequel to With Me Now, toying around with two other paranormal romances, and one historical.  There’s always another Chapter 1!
9.       And finally, two just for fun:  If you wrote a book about yourself, what would the title be? Probably something along the lines of, “So this happened….”
10.   What are five adjectives you feel describe you?  Loving, nerdy, awkward, rambunctious, and groovy

Heather Hambel Curley is a 2004 graduate of Robert Morris University, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Communications.  She’s been writing since the fourth grade, but didn’t get serious with writing until she’s reached her thirtieth birthday (metabolism went down, determination to write went up!).  With Me Now is her debut novel and her historical fiction novel, Anything You Ask of Me will be released in August 2015.
Heather currently resides in Western Pennsylvania with her husband and two songs.  When she’s not writing or working as a disability claims analyst at an insurance company, she enjoys traveling and training to run 5ks.  She also enjoys white wine, One Direction, and getting tattoos.

Filthy Marcellos Book Tour @BethankKris #mystery #romance #thriller @LoveBitesSilk

Filthy Marcellos: La Cosa Nostra is not just a choice of regime and routine, it’s a culture. Born as mafia royalty, the Marcello brothers were raised ingrained with the beliefs and rules of what it meant to be a Mafioso prince. It is for life. Their status is considered a given right. They will always be these people. They will always be Marcellos.

BOOK ONE - FILTHY MARCELLOS: Lucian

BLURB
Lucian Marcello is aware of the expectations following him as the oldest son of one of North America’s most infamous Cosa Nostra Dons. Family in his world is more than blood and sharing a last name. It’s the honor, respect, business, and the life. Being a Capo is just a stepping stone until it’s time for him to take on the role of underboss but a chance meeting with her could be the one thing he’d risk it all for.

She is exactly what he didn’t know he was looking for.

Jordyn Reese spends her time trying to stay under the radar of a man who wouldn’t think twice about killing her. Unwillingly affiliated with a dangerous MC gang, her life is dominated by the men surrounding her and her future rests solely in how useful she can be for them. The last thing she needs is some Mafioso gaining her more unwanted attention from the club.

He is everything she should stay away from but can’t.

Notoriously violent when it comes to getting what he wants, Lucian will stop at nothing to make the target on Jordyn’s back disappear. But sometimes the worst threats are the ones you can’t see until it’s too late. The truth behind Lucian’s history is about to take center stage in more ways than one, and it’ll either save him … or kill him.

This world leaves everyone a little filthy.

BOOK TWO - FILTHY MARCELLOS: Giovanni

BLURB

Giovanni Marcello lives life by his own terms and has no intention of changing. As a Capo and the son of a mob boss, he knows what is and is not acceptable conduct. That doesn’t stop him from doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants to do it. The one thing he would never do is disobey the principles of La Cosa Nostra. That is, until he spends a night with a beautiful stranger.

He’ll break every rule for her.

Kim Abella has made some mistakes—no doubt about it. She’s paying for them by a forced marriage she doesn’t want to a man who suffocates her with his demands and abuse. After everything, she knew better than to get mixed up with another family, especially their youngest son. Then again, when she’s with him, he reminds her of who she is beneath the control that’s slowly killing her.

She just can’t leave him alone.

Being spoken for by a made man means Kim is off-limits, but Giovanni doesn’t play nice when it comes to taking what should be his. The only thing that might save them both from a bullet and a makeshift grave for what they’ve done are the very same rules they already broke.

Sometimes, love has to start out a little filthy.

Until she shows up with an offer he wants to refuse, but can’t.

Catrina Danzi is known for her angel face and a predator’s grace. For over a decade, she’s worked as a successful Queen Pin dealing with a repertoire of clientele who can’t afford a scandal. That’s why they ask for her and why they call her Queen. Marrying Dante Marcello means giving up the business and status she loves in order to gain protection she can’t provide on her own, but she no longer has a choice.

Without him, she’s got everything to lose.

The rules for their arrangement are simple: no intimacy, no emotions. Dante isn’t looking for love and Catrina doesn’t need attachments. In the end, life has a way of breaking down walls when you least expect it to, and once love gets in, there’s no bleeding it out. Together, they make a formidable team the Commission won’t be able to ignore. Catrina’s secret of what she’s kept safe will put the entire Marcello family in danger when it finally catches up with her. The Marcellos have yet to be beaten, and they’re not about to start bowing down now.

Even the most beautiful things are a little filthy.

PREQUEL - FILTHY MARCELLOS: Antony

BLURB
Antony Marcello didn’t break the rules. Not the ones that mattered, anyway. In the world of La Cosa Nostra, justice was served with a single word and a bullet, not a courthouse and a judge. When he was told to jump, there was only one appropriate response: How high, Boss?

Some rules are worth bending.

La famiglia has been Antony’s goal for longer than he cares to remember. Getting his button is everything alongside family, honor, God, and loyalty. Meeting Cecelia Catrolli puts what he thought he knew upside down as the mafia, friendship, secrets and love carry him through life. Nothing is ever easy.

Some rules are worth the killing.

When Cosa Nostra, the one thing he has always known and trusted, takes away his best friend, leaving Antony to pick up the pieces, he’ll have to decide if the rules are finally worth breaking. He didn’t start out as the boss, he began as just Antony.
Sometimes, you have to learn how to be filthy.

Excerpt from Filthy Marcellos: Antony

“What did they do, forget the ‘H’ when they spelled your name on the birth certificate?” Cecelia asked, a teasing smile lighting up her pretty features.
Antony chuckled, holding out his fork full off cheesecake for her to take. He waited while she drew the sweet bite from the utensil, her lips wrapping around the fork in a way that had his darker urges rising. He quickly reminded himself of the enforcer two booths away, readjusted his position in the seat, and cleared his throat. Yeah, he needed to get as far away from those fucking thoughts as he possibly could.
And fast.
Cecelia was innocent. Antony needed to keep that forefront and center. He sure as hell wasn’t, but she was. Why she wanted anything to do with him, he wasn’t sure.
“No, they didn’t forget to add it in,” Antony finally replied.
Cecelia used the tip of her thumb to wipe away a bit of cream at the corner of her mouth. Antony’s gaze instantly zoned in on that innocent gesture and she didn’t miss it. Cecelia’s smile turned into a knowing grin.
Something inside of him said she wasn’t totally innocent.
“Like Cleopatra,” Antony explained.
“Hmm?”
“Cleopatra and Antony. My mother was a romantic. I was lucky I didn’t end up with Romeo for a name. She had a thing for couples who gave everything up for love.”
“Including their lives,” Cecelia mused.
“Exactly. What’s love without a little tragedy, as the saying goes. My brother got the namesake and I ended up with Antony.”
Cecelia chewed on her inner cheek, smiling in that sensual way of hers all over again. “I think I like Antony more, anyway.”
“Me, too.”
Her hand found his thigh again. “Take me dancing this weekend, hmm? Somewhere fun. I never get to do fun things, anymore.”
“I can do that, Tesoro.”
Whatever she wanted, he’d give.
“And maybe …” Cecelia trailed off with a sly hum.
“Maybe what, Cecelia?”
“This.”
She leaned up and kissed him before he’d blinked. Soft, warm lips pressed to his and that was it for him. Antony was gone. She tasted like sugar and innocence. Pureness right down to her blood and bones. His cock jerked to life under his slacks the higher her hand rose on his thigh and the harder she kissed him. Quickly, her lips parted and he took the chance to deepen the kiss for the brief moment he could.
She didn’t pull away.
Yeah, innocent.
He was going to dirty this girl up so bad.
Antony bet she’d like it.

For the love of a sensual Dom @ElodieParkes #newrelease #bdsm

A Dom for Patti.

When a fleeting encounter with a handsome stranger ignites Patti’s repressed loneliness, she has to admit she longs for the love of a sensual Dom.
Luck is on her side when she goes out for the evening, and meets delicious Cameron in The Club—but is he all that he appears to be?
Cameron’s overwhelming attraction to Patti is tested when she inexplicably fails to show up for a date—just what is going on and will they ever get together?
An erotic romance, with Dom/sub and spanking elements—a contemporary, magical love story.

Interview with Cameron
1. If you were a dessert, what would you be?
Chocolate ice cream cake with a drizzle of coffee liqueur
2. What is it like being a personal trainer?
I enjoy seeing people achieve their goals and becoming happier with themselves. I travel with them sometimes, if they’re a movie star or model trying to get back into shape, and that can be fun.
3. What do you do when you need to blow off steam?
I own a fitness center with my brother so I work out and sometimes I’ll take off on a rock-climbing spree.
4. What do you look for in a woman?
Gentleness, intelligence, a sense of humor, sexiness, courage, beautiful eloquent eyes
5. What’s your favorite sex toy?
Mmm, let me think for a moment … okay well all kinds of vibrators and lubes are great because I can give my lady more pleasure
6. The blurb for A Dom for Patti mentions spanking, can we expect some in the story and do you enjoy spanking?
(Laughs) I’ve never been spanked per se, although Patti has dared to slap me on the ass as I pass naked, which I loved and had to kiss her loads to reassure her it was okay. I spank her because it makes her wet, but I don’t put my strength behind it. I do it for her to give her pleasure not to hurt. Frankly, I’d be devastated if I hurt her. I cherish her—she’s mine and we both know it, but that means I take care of her.
7. Tell us a little about Patti.
She works in fashion. She’s pretty, small, slender, and fits over my shoulder. (Smiles) She’s sexy, clever, interesting, luscious … let’s stop this before I start craving her kiss.
8. So, this is a love story?
It sure is. It’s hot, sexy, and there’s a journey, but it’s all worth it.

EXCERPT.
The darkness soothed Patti. The music lifted her spirits and she smiled at the lovely sight of people enjoying each other. She relaxed in the familiar atmosphere and began to wonder why she’d denied herself this pleasure for so long. Happy now, she wandered along to the bar and ordered coffee.
Patti spent a pleasant ten minutes drinking her coffee and talking with the bartender, before a man and woman she’d seen around The Club in the past arrived at the bar. Patti cast a sidelong glance at them before transferring her scrutiny to watching their touches and kisses through the length of mirror along the back of the bar. They were obviously a couple. More than that, they were obviously in love.
Patti left the sight that reminded her of what she desperately wanted and walked along to the end of the room. She stopped in the gloom there and considered going home. She’d shaken her depression and maybe on her next visit she’d find one of the Masters free.
About to move off, instead, Patti turned abruptly. Someone approached from behind and she was suddenly aware she lurked around in the entrance to the corridor that led to the private rooms.
He was closer than she’d anticipated. A hard muscular chest met her, and as she bumped against the man, his arms enclosed her.
Patti looked up into the face of a man she’d never seen before.
His eyes were dark in the gloom. He’d stopped further into the shadows, but the handsome planes of his face were still obvious. A dimple appeared in his left cheek as he smiled.
“Hey, are you okay? I didn’t mean to scare you.” He left his arms around her.
Patti soaked up the contact. She looked at him with interest. “I was deep in thought.”
