How would you like to be...Marooned With The Millionaire? @Sandrabunino @evernightpublishing #newrelease

Welcome to Sandra Bunino, who is here to share her new book. Over to you...

Thanks for having me on your site to share my new release, Marooned with the Millionaire! I hope your readers enjoy the sexy little snippet I added below.

MAROONED WITH THE MILLIONAIRE
from Evernight Publishing

Release: April 9, 2013

Blurb:

A fierce Miami storm bring sexy strangers together at The Hotel Del Santos for a night of desire.

Stephanie, still reeling from a failed marriage, needs a break from the past. Shying away from the convention center crowds while on a business trip, she finds solace tucked away in a secluded hotel on South Beach.

Jason, a wealthy Seattle builder, has the worst luck with love. He swears he will never allow another woman to get under his skin, until the clicking of a pair of sexy stilettos across the hotel lobby floor attracts his attention.

Cut off from the outside world, the lives of these two strangers collide and burn with desire when a storm strands them together. Neither wants anything more than a glorious one-night stand.

Their chemistry is undeniable and propels them to a second meeting in Sin City. However, Stephanie soon learns she has more reason to be wary of her mysterious lover than a broken heart.

Excerpt:

Stephanie sipped her martini while glancing over to the window. The storm showed no signs of letting up. In fact, it seemed to grow even more fierce. As if on cue, a violent crack of thunder ripped through the lounge as the rain angrily batted at the window. Carlos poured her yet another martini and she lost count of how many times he’d refilled her glass. Was this the third or the fourth? She knew one thing for sure: Jason Royce was sexy as hell. The way his blue eyes sparkled, as the candlelight flickered shadows against his tanned features, rocked her to her core.
Stealing a glance at his strong, muscular build beneath his sports jacket caused her breath to catch in her throat. Until today, she hadn’t thought of another man this way, not since before she was married. As if in a trance, she couldn’t break her stare. However, she quickly became aware of his smile. He watched her drink him in, which made her blush and turn her head in embarrassment.
Jason moved closer and spoke slowly in his silky voice. “I wonder if you might dance with me.”
“I’d like that.” Whoa. What the hell am I doing?
He led her to the dance floor illuminated only with candlelight and the occasional flash of lightning. Placing one hand in his and the
other on his back, their bodies started out a respectable distance apart. Before long, Jason’s warmth drew her in, and she couldn’t ignore the electricity forming between them. Tentatively, she stepped closer and lightly rested her head against his neck. Jason took this as a cue to guide her hand up and over his shoulder. Suddenly, his strong hands urgently pulled her against his rock hard body. The force of his embrace awakened a passion that lay dormant inside her until now. Stephanie couldn’t fight the fire building within her. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply, inhaling his musky scent while caressing his neck with her fingertips. Her face grazed up the side of his neck, stopping at his jawbone. Jason’s touch seared her skin as his fingertips skimmed up her side to her neck and came to rest on her chin. With his thumb and finger, he guided her face upward and she opened her eyes. His smoldering gaze burned a trail down her body. Uncomfortable with the intensity of his stare, she looked away.
“Stephanie.”
Her eyes shifted back to meet his gaze as he lowered his mouth and softly brushed his lips against hers, questioning her, awaiting a response. Accepting his invitation, she parted her lips and moaned softly. His lips were soft and enticing. It had been a long time since she was kissed like this. She surrendered her tongue to his and felt desire fill her belly as an overwhelming passion grew by the moment. Breathlessly, she pulled away, embarrassed by her body’s reaction to the kiss. She looked down and pressed her forehead against his chin.
“I don’t know why I did that. I need to go sit down.”

Do you trust your instincts? #newrelease @sallymax @breathlesspress

Intuition

Have you ever had an overwhelming feeling something bad was going to happen?  Did you share it? Did people believe you? Did something bad end up happening?
My family have always believed in intuition. Too many bad things have happened and had a  precursor of a bad feeling, or of a dream/nightmare.  None of us would consider ourselves to be psychic, just perhaps a little more attuned to feelings of foreboding.
My family has always been supportive of hunches, but what if the person closest to you didn't believe you?
That's what happens to Penny in Penny for the Night.  Her ex-boyfriend, Declan, doesn't believe she has any psychic abilities and thinks she is a fraud.  How can she prove her intuitions are right? And does she even want to?

Penny for the Night
by Sally Max

Blurb:
Hired to investigate strange phenomenon and a mysterious death at a historic mansion, Penny, a struggling psychic can't let this opportunity pass.  Even if that does mean being thrown together with her ex, Declan, who thinks she's a fraud.  Tempers flare, as the two have to work together, but can they survive the night long investigation without killing each other? Or will a ghost, already accused of causing one man's death, cause two more?

Excerpt:
"Penny," a gruff voice said from the back of the room.
Surprised, she jerked her head to the left as the familiarity of the voice washed over her. When she turned, she saw him, all six feet, and in a dark blue suit. He looked good, very professional. His dusty blond hair still had that unkempt sexiness that made her want to run her fingers through it. He must still run, as his lean muscles were outlined in the tailored jacket and pants. Her body reacted as if she had been punched in the gut. How long had he been there? Had he known she was at the funeral the whole time?
"Declan?" she said, slightly confused.
"What are you doing here?" he asked, an accusatory tone in his voice.
His presence filled the room; how had she not felt him there? Perhaps it was the atmosphere; she wasn't used to doing readings in such damp conditions.
"I'm...I..." Penny started, then, realizing it was really none of his business, stated, "I'm here in a professional capacity."
"A professional what?"
"That's none of your concern. I didn't realize you lived around here, let alone would be at this funeral—"
"So, you would have avoided me, if given the chance?" he asked.
"Yes," Penny responded, offering the truth. "Why open old wounds?"
He opened, then shut his mouth slowly, as if tasting that delicate bit of knowledge.
"I've moved on, as I'm sure you have too," Declan stated finally.
"Of course, it's been what, nine-ten years?"
"Something like that."
"Well, it was good seeing you, but I have a meeting with my client in a few minutes, I should get going." She held her hand out to him for a handshake.
Declan looked at Penny's hand, and with a roll of his eyes, he walked out the door. He still wouldn't touch her.

Sally Max Bio:

#Sexy Snippets from @TheNuthouseScribblers.

Welcome to Sexy Snippets.

Today's tasty treat comes from Logan's Captive, which is my story in The Enforcers, The Blood Bar Chronicles Book 3.

Let's get straight in with 7 sexy sentences:

“That’s it, my sweet, relax. I’m not gonna hurt you. I’m gonna
make your body sing with pleasure.” Logan scattered a trail of
kisses from her lips to her breasts, slowly slipping the straps of her
bra off and moving his hands under her to unhook it. He threw
the lacy thing onto the floor. “Mmm hmm, so much to enjoy.” He
licked her right nipple until it formed a peak, then he did the same
to the left and sucked hard.

SJ Thomas has done the Unthinkable!

Doing the Unthinkable – Turning Down a Contract!

Yes I said it and if you've fallen off your chair with shock please climb back up and read on.

When you are starting out as an author all you can think about is getting a contract offer. It doesn't cross your mind that you would turn it down if you received one. Well, this is exactly what has just happened to me.

I am not going to name names and all the contact I had with the publisher in question was lovely; very friendly, seemed very professional, and they answered my queries promptly. What put me off though was the contract terms; in particularly the indemnity clause. This basically states that the author has to indemnify the publisher if they are subject to any legal action in respect of the story. A potentially huge liability to take on!

From what I have read this is fairly standard wording in the publishing industry, but other publishers I have signed with have not included this scary clause in their contracts. Now I doubt many authors starting out can afford to pay for lawyers to review their contracts and if I hadn't previously signed a contract that didn't include this type of clause, I probably wouldn't have thought to query it.

So, for all newbies and not so newbies signing with a new publisher, here's a few little tips for what to look for in a contract:

-                          Be clear about what rights you are giving up, how long you are giving them up for and where in the world those rights can be exercised
-                          How does renewal/cancellation work?
-                          Check you are happy with the royalty rates and payment dates
-                          What does the contract say about timescale for returning edits, proofs etc? Is there flexibility built in for the days when the world runs away with you?
-                          How much say do you get about cover art and titles? Most publishers have final approval on cover art but good ones will work closely with you. Would you be happy if the publisher changed your title?
-                          Check for anything that involves you having to pay the publisher money. You should never have to pay for editing, cover art or publishing your book and be aware of indemnity clauses.
-                          What does it say about promo/review copies? Most contracts give you a certain number of copies to give away.
-                          What are the respective responsibilities for promotion, advertising, review request etc? Be sure you are both going to be working for your book.

This is of course by no means a complete list, but these are a few things to be aware off and my best advice is that no matter how excited you are to receive a contract, don't rush into signing it until you've had a good read through the terms. Make sure the contract works for you because this is your baby you're giving up and while there are many wonderful publishers out there, sadly we also know there are some rotten ones. If it doesn't feel right, chances are it probably isn't.

So, I hope you have found this useful and best of luck on all those contracts I am sure you will be signing in the future!

Is love stronger than magic? @evernightpublishing #newrelease

As a fan of paranormal romance I am delighted to welcome Angelina Rain and her new book His Guardian Witch published by Evernight Publishing.  I love the cover!

Blurb

Is love stronger than magic?

Morgan has never encountered a spell she couldn’t cast or a curse she couldn’t break. With her natural knack for witchcraft, she runs a magic store that helps others. When a handsome but cursed man walks into her store, she is pit against magic stronger than her own.

Daniel lived an ordinary life before he ended up on a witch’s bad side and was jinxed with non-stop bad luck. Out of sheer desperation he visits Morgan’s Magic Shop. Morgan agrees to help him and they must work together to find the witch and pinpoint the hex she used in order to undo it. As they search, feelings ignite and a romance blossoms. Will this bad luck spell end their love, or will their love be strong enough to break the incantation?

Be Warned: sex toys

Excerpt:

Morgan opened her eyes and watched as the glittering aura lights danced before her. They reached the window and passed through the glass on the way to the girl. Once all the lights were gone, she glanced at Daniel. A big smile crossed his handsome face, but her attention went below it. A rock rose inside his pants, large and long. She gulped, and the need to see it minus his jeans suddenly grew too strong.

No, she shouldn't look. Instead she closed her eyes and tried to conjure up more peaceful images of nature and sunlight. Those images didn't come though. Instead, she saw her silky bedroom sheets.

Her body lay on those sheets, writhing in passion as her legs spread open and in the air. Daniel's head bobbed between her thighs, and his tongue lapped at her warm, natural juices.

She gulped, gasped, and opened her eyes.

His lustful gaze met hers. Lust that matched her own and her heart pulsed fast inside her chest. Her center grew damp, and she longed for his touch.

"I think your thoughts were similar to mine."

She didn't reply to Daniel's statement. Instead, Morgan tried to stand. Her knees grew weak as she rose to her feet.

Daniel stood, too. "You can't deny you were thinking about it, too."

"I wasn't denying anything."

He crossed to her and wrapped his arms around her back. Warmth filtered through her, and Morgan felt herself blush. When he spoke, his breath tickled her skin. "I was thinking about how good it would be to lay you down in my bed."

"You don't have a bed. It was stolen."

His chuckling made her wetter. There was something so sexy about his voice. "The floor, then." Daniel pulled her closer to himself until she rubbed against him. His hard cock pressed into her navel, and she tilted her head upward to meet his gaze. His lips brushed hers. The kiss started tender and slow. She opened her mouth to invite him inside.

She lay on the floor, his body pressing into hers. His hands touched her sides, slipping under her shirt. His lips left hers and instead kissed her neck. He found her breasts, rubbing his palms over her nipples. Only the thin lace of her bra separated her flesh from his.

Morgan moaned. The need inside her multiplied, and she wanted to touch him, feel him, taste him. She flipped him over until she was on top and he on the bottom. She raked her fingertips over his chest and abs, feeling the hard muscle beneath the black t-shirt. But feeling and seeing were two different things, and she wanted to see. Taking the hem of his shirt, she raised it until his smooth and taut skin lay open for her to feast on. She ran her tongue over the ridges of his six-pack.

Daniel inhaled sharply, and she smiled as she kissed him right below the belly button. Morgan glanced at the trail of hair leading to somewhere below his pants. She undid the button, her hands on the zipper.

"Is this supposed to happen?"

She tried to glance at his face, but who was she kidding? The hardness in his pants was more appealing. "You mean the hard-on. It means you're excited. It's totally natural."

Morgan met his eye, and he shook his head. His gaze moved somewhere beside and beyond her. "No, I mean is the candle supposed to fly?"

"Shit!" Morgan pushed away from Daniel. She watched, bewildered, as black and dark blue winds danced around the room. The candle was high off the floor.

"I'm guessing something is wrong."

"Very wrong."

The flame didn't go out despite the sudden winds in the room. It rose, high and strong and fierce. Then the wind died quickly. The candle dropped to the floor. Flames danced over the hardwood planks. The fire happened too quickly to be natural. Some sort of magical force was behind it.

"Come on, we have to go!" She urged him by pulling his arm until he stood and ran behind her. Once they were outside, her fingers fumbled with the buttons on her phone as she dialed 911. Daniel stood beside her. His face was white, whiter than the nice tan he had all day. "What…" He stuttered. "What just happened?"

"The spell didn't work. Peace and forgiveness didn't get to her. Something repelled them, and her anger came at us, manifesting itself as the wind. This spell is stronger than I first thought. Something or someone is controlling it."

She lifted her chin, just as his lips captured her in a kiss that sent all her senses wild. His lips gentle at first, teasing, but as she groaned into him she heard him growl. He increased the pressure, crushing him to her. His other hand fisted her hair so he could lock her to him. Kyla was lost, completely.
